At the Austin Hospital

Late on Friday 22nd January Stu arrived at the Austin Hospital Intensive Care Unit, ehausted after an extraorinarliy long transfer process from Western Australia. Special thanks must go to:

Professor  Geoff Dobb, RPH ICU, for "encouraging"  the relevant Government authorities to move,

Rino Ienco, Business Manager RPH, for squeezing the very last drop of funding out of the GMF Health and the Government.

Michelle, Luke and the team of Nurses on Ward 5G RPH.

Tim and the crew at RPH ICU.

Stu is Coming Home

We would just like to say that Stu will be back at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne tomorrow night (Friday 22)

We know how eager you all are to see him, but we ask that you give him a couple of days to settle in at the Austin Hospital. Once we know visiting hours etc, we will update the website and organise a roster for visiting.

Thank you so much for your well wishes and support.

Surgery
The surgery to Stu's fracture is stable. He now has limited movement to his head and neck. After the surgery on 30th December he was transferred to the Orthopedic ward. Whilst he was being rolled onto his side his breathing became blocked and his right lung collapsed. Stu was quickly placed on a portable ventillator and moved to ICU. He had a tube inserted in through his mouth with the ventillator attached to inflate his lungs.
